 EARLY COLLEGE JUNIORS ACHIEVE 100% PASS RATE ON GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL WRITING TEST!!!On October 14th, fifty ECAC juniors traveled by bus to the Columbus State University campus and assembled in Stanley Hall to write one of the most important essays they would ever write. This essay would have to be passed in order to receive a high school diploma. In the state of Georgia, all students must pass all five components of the Georgia High School Graduation Tests to graduate. Having passed this first test is the first step to "Walking across the stage" said Jeneshia Lykes, a junior who is also taking courses at CSU. The entire junior class is to be congratulated for this achievement.

Results for the 2008-2009 school year were published in July for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Early College Academy of Columbus met AYP for the third year in a row. AYP now requires schools to meet criteria in three areas: Test Participation (for both Mathematics and Reading/English Language Arts), Academic Performance (for both Mathematics and Reading/English Language Arts), and a Second Indicator.
