EARLY COLLEGE ACADEMY GRADUATION
The graduation ceremony for the Legacy Class of Early College Academy
was held at the Columbus Civic Center on Saturday, May 29 at 8:00 p.m.
The Legacy Class had 61 graduates. During their four years at Early College,
the Legacy Class performed over 9,000 hours of community service and
earned over 200 semester hours of college credit at CSU. Many of these
graduates started their high school years in June of the 2006 before
their freshman year started at "June Jam" taking classes in Computer
Applications, PE
& Health, Math, or English and earning their first high school credits.
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Dr. Martina McCrory is the Early College Teacher of the Year. The Teachers of the Year from each school in the district were recognized at a gala on May 6th. Click here to see some pictures of Dr. McCrory and her class.

Ms. Crawford is available to make ID cards after the end of the fifteen minute rule each period. Replacement ID cards are $5 each.

MCSD and WTVM BEGIN "BE THERE" INITIATIVE
MCSD is partnering WTVM Channel 9 to share Extraordinary Teachable Moments (ETM) through the Be There parent involvement campaign!

ECAC MEETS AYP FOR THIRD
CONSECUTIVE YEAR!!!
Results for the 2008-2009 school year were published in July for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Early College Academy of Columbus met AYP for the third year in a row. AYP
now requires schools to meet criteria in three areas: Test Participation (for both
Mathematics and Reading/English Language Arts), Academic Performance (for
